Yoga Alliance Registered (RYT200)

Is a Restorative Alignment teacher training something for me?

Are you looking for a teacher training where you will

  • Learn a safe method to teach yoga.
  • Obtain in-depth knowledge of the human body.
  • Learn through practice and from your own experience.
  • Have fun and learn in a playful way in a stunning tropical beach setting.
  • Learn how to meet your students’ challenges.
  • Learn how to teach with confidence.
  • Become a RYT200 Yoga Alliance registered teacher.

Then this teacher training may be something for you!

In Brigitte’s terms, you will be invited to experience “relaxation as practice”. This means that you will stop generating tension by striving to “do yoga”, and learn to calm and strengthen the body and mind, creating an optimal state to fully experience and discover the dynamic energy of the asanas (and stillness of mind in meditation).

With the knowledge you will acquire, and as a result of your own practice, you will learn to teach not only from theory but also from the heart.

Once you have felt this deep experience, you may feel the desire to share this vision and teach it to others.

What you will learn

The heart of the program consists of daily instruction in the practice of meditation, pranayama and asana. This is complemented by in-depth teaching of the following integral aspects of yoga:

Explore the origins of yoga and how it came to be a tool for restoration of the body and mind. Learn about the different aspects of yogic ethics and lifestyle.

In this course lots of attention will be given to techniques that allow you to restore the energy and health of the physical, emotional and mental body.

Learn to practice the asanas in a well aligned and safe way, experiencing the full dynamic range of movement according to your own body’s possibilities.

You will learn techniques that will allow you to create awareness of the way you breathe in order to increase your energy level, and balance your mind and emotions.

Get to know the human body intimately and explore the physical and mental elements relevant to yoga practice.

Learn purification techniques based on ancient yoga traditions. In this course we’ll only practice the milder kriyas: Tratak (cleansing of the eye-sight) and Kapalabhati (cleansing of the breathing system)

Obtain your own teaching experience under safe guidance of Brigitte and her team. Learn the ins and outs of teaching yoga and how to meet your student’s physical and mental challenges.

· Brigitte Longueville ·

Traveling to India 40 years ago was my big inspiration to start practicing yoga. Studying the more traditional yoga paths (Iyengar- and Ashtanga-yoga) and interlacing it with the functional restorative yoga that I have been practicing during the past 20 years, created a fruitful mix that resulted in the birth of Restorative Alignment. Some of my most influential teachers have been Clive Sheridan, Gert van Leeuwen, David McAmmond, and my Vipassana teacher S.N. Goenka.

Since 2008 I hold a Yoga Alliance registration as E-RYT500 and YACEP provider and have trained over a thousand new yoga teachers in my RYT200 Restorative Alignment teacher training courses.

· Susanna Borgatti ·

My passion for yoga started in San Francisco, California. Initially my interest was a simple desire to increase my flexibility and I felt yoga would be a great way to do so. Over the years I have explored many different styles of yoga such as Iyengar and Vinyasa. My practice in restorative yoga deepened with the help of Brigitte Longueville. Soon I discovered that it was an incredible tool that could address injuries and chronic pain while also calming the mind.

My style of teaching is accessible, yet informative, and adheres to the general principle that anyone and everyone can benefit from the practice. A balance of simple form, fluid movement and exploration of the particular nature of posture in yoga. The understanding of the movement patterns in the body is critical for the meaningful realization of asanas.

Certification: Yoga Alliance registered teacher (E-RYT200). Training: With Brigitte Longueville (E-RYT500) Restorative/ Multi-Style 300-hours teacher training, completed in 2008 at the Solstice Yoga Center.

· Maria Ananda ·
